WordPress Developer
Your roles and responsibilities
- WordPress Expertise: Maintain a strong working knowledge of WordPress, including building websites from scratch, custom theme and plugin development, customisation, and troubleshooting.
- Page Builders: Preferably familiar with Bricks Builder and ACF Pro. Experience with other builders like Elementor or Breakdance is acceptable, but Bricks and ACF are preferred.
- Hosting & Server Management: Manage hosting environments, including tasks such as adding/removing domains, upgrading hosting packages, editing DNS records, managing MySQL databases, updating PHP versions, and troubleshooting server-related issues.
- Critical Issue Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve critical WordPress issues, conduct thorough site audits, and ensure all websites are secure, functional, and optimised.
- Frontend Development: Work with the UX/UI designer to ensure user experience and interface design are correctly implemented, and websites are visually appealing, responsive, and easy to navigate.
- Technical Proficiency: Possess excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS, with a solid understanding of JavaScript and PHP for custom development.
- Email Hosting Management: Manage email hosting accounts, troubleshoot issues, and assist clients with email-related concerns.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate project requirements, potential challenges, and progress with designers, management, and clients. Must be able to clearly explain technical issues and work collaboratively across departments.
- Website Maintenance: Maintain websites by keeping WordPress core, plugins, and themes up-to-date. Conduct regular security checks, cache clearances, functionality testing, and backups.
- Google Services Integration: Have a strong understanding of Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Google My Business, and Google Ads. Ensure seamless integration with WordPress websites.
- SEO Knowledge: Implement SEO best practices, optimising websites for high search engine performance, load speed, and user experience.
- Time Management: Handle multiple projects with strong time management skills, ensuring fast turnaround times without sacrificing quality.
- WordPress Stack Optimisation: Maintain and optimise the agency’s WordPress stack for speed, efficiency, and security.
- Basic Image Editing: Have basic image editing skills for web use (cropping, resizing, compression).
- Figma Proficiency: Work from Figma designs and convert them into fully functional websites.
- WooCommerce & E-commerce: Build and manage WooCommerce websites, including payment gateway integration, inventory management, and custom ecommerce solutions.
- Research & Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress plugins, development trends, and best practices. Actively research and suggest new tools and technologies to benefit the agency’s clients.
- Template and Dynamic Data Development: Build dynamic websites with custom post types, templates, and query loops to enable scalable, data-driven content.

Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in WordPress development (3+ years preferred).
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Knowledge of WordPress builders (Bricks, ACF Pro preferred).
- Experience with hosting management, DNS, MySQL, and server-related tasks.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO, and performance optimisation.
- Experience with WooCommerce and e-commerce platforms.
- Figma experience is a plus.
